When you decide to explore a new destination the most important thing before travelling to that place is to know the Geo-political situation of that particular destinations. Geography is very important part because that way you will know the terrain and the climate which will help you carry required things to survive. For example if you are travelling to a place of extreme cold atmosphere then carrying lotions, cloths, shoes, survival kit etc becomes absolutely necessary. When we had gone to Tashkent in Nov month it was hot in india but as soon as we reached Tashkent the climate was -3 degree and raining we had to unpack at the Airport itself and remove the jackets etc so before reaching the destination read about the climate of that particular day in your destination. Knowing present day political situation is equally important while on holiday we don’t want to get entangled in any unrest or protest etc going on. Another important part is to know the local transport and the time table very thoroughly so that internal travel becomes easy.
